Fireworks amist in Fantavision!

Posted 1 Day ago on the Gathering of Gamers website

For my 150th GoG Chronicle, it seems fitting that I should want to review a unique game that was one of the first title's I played on the PS2.

Fantavision is a game that I would guess you have not played. It was released in 2000 and I remember being blown away by the graphics at a party in college. The memory still remains, when I was in the room enjoying this new foun
d game, while others continued doing keg stands, beer bongs, and other college party-like activities, haha.

The idea behind this game is that you're traveling through cool worlds, making fireworks to a great techno-flavored soundtrack. That's right, the primary objective of Fantavision seems to be putting on the best show and connecting tons of colorful explosions!

I'll quote the "How To Play" section from the game's instruction manual: "The cursor is used to mark your current position and to identify the desired flare to be captured. The Guideline that extends from the floating Cursor indicates the direction of the Cursor. Using the Left Analog Stick, move the Guideline to the desired flare. The Cursor will move across the Guideline to the desired flare. Press the X button to capture the flare. The flares that can be captured are indicated by the Catch Cursor."

I shared that excerpt because it's way too confusing to actual explain the game play, haha, sorry.

Anyways, I think it shows you something, when I do not own a PS2, but I still picked this video game up the moment I saw it!

It may have been because this is such a sweet game that I remember changing the way I thought video games could be...or maybe it was the $4.99 price tag, lol, who knows...
