Super Mario Galaxy

Super Mario Galaxy felt like a reunion with my childhood...

I've seen alot of Mario titles come and go since the 3 NES classics, that memorized the video gaming world, many years ago. As with most titles, I had great hope for Super Mario Galaxy, but also knew I would be let down like so many knockoffs before it...

I recently gave Super Paper Mario a try, considering it was the Wii and I thought things would be different. As much as I struggled with the childish dialog and time wasting gameplay, I kept trying to enjoy it, until I traded it away so I could try out Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (which also sucks).

With a few single-player Wii games leaving a sour taste in my mouth and Wii Sports still my only real favorite on the Wii so far, I chose to only rent Super Mario Galaxy. After a few days of checking it out...if you're looking for a unique game playing experience with a subtle classic Mario reference, I would strongly recommend buying this one.

I think the best part of this game is something that is rarely found in alot of games today...my girlfriend and I enjoyed this game together!!! Although it is one player game, it's easy to exchange the controllers (even if someone doesn't want to and they end up going a few extra turns Wink ) She got to know the game first, then I joined in and we now battle Koopa together!

The other great things about Mario Galaxy, is the ultra-unique worlds, solid map logic, cameras, controls, graphics, limited storyline, fun new tools and toys, fun mini games, and the great references to the Mario games of old! I wish I could go into details for every aspect of these things, but I'll leave the to someone who has finished the game.

We've completed 3 galaxies (out of 6) so far and I hope my girlfriend and I can continue along and "beat the game" ...haha...especially because it's overdue and I've got to get it back Very Happy

THANKS MARIO(and Nintendo)...it's great to enjoy your classic charm in a whole new way!
